BAM celebrates Ballydehob’s unique place as centre of an iconic arts and crafts movement between 1950 and 1990 by assembling, cataloguing and displaying a donated permanent collection of works from that era. The diverse artistic community in Ballydehob encompassed ceramicists, painters and illustrators, craft workers, writers, photographers, musicians, dancers and many others. It was a phenomenon unique in Ireland at that time.
While BAM at Bank House curates annual exhibitions of the available works, this website acts as an archive of artist biographies, stories and representations of their works.
Anyone wishing to contribute pieces for the collection or information for the archive are encouraged to please contact us.
